Founded by five young men, William Grigsby McCormick, George Miles Arnold, John Covert Boyd, Edmund Law Rogers Jr., and Frank Courtney Nicodemus, on December 10, 1869, at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Kappa Sigma was born as a fraternity that prioritized fellowship and academic excellence.
